The following are a few of the most common questions we get from you at this time of year- so we thought we would share them with all our customers.
1. I have a very sensitive scalp, what would you recommend for covering my grey roots?
We have lots of people coming to us with sensitive scalps and telling us that the only colour they can use is our Naturigin Organic Hair Colour. Naturigin is the most gentle colour on the market with no ammonia, no resorcinol, no PTD and no SLS. It also has the lowest amount of PPD’S (0.01%) of any other hair colour on the market.
Scalp sensitivity differs depending on the person and what may suit one person will not suit the next. The body is constantly in a state of change and even hormone changes in the body can affect sensitivity and colouring over time. That is why we always say patch test before you colour- even if you have had no reaction to a colour before. This will show up any issues and you will feel safe and secure using our natural colour and you will find that the essential oils will leave your scalp and hair feeling nourished.
2. I have noticed sensitive sore patches developing on my elbows do you have anything to help?
Flaky, scaly and sore skin on the increase and dry patches often develop on the elbows and knees. We have lovely body butters from America by The Seaweed Bath Co. They were developed by a psoriasis suffer using seaweed and natural beeswax to soak into the skin and lock moisture in. They come in handy to hold stick form so they can be applied easily where needed. They are excellent for treating Psoriasis, eczema and flaky sore skin.
3. I have recently become Vegan do you have any products that are cruelty free?
At Simply Natural we try to source products that are cruelty free and do not damage the environment. All of our great cruelty free products can be found in our store but our favourites are:
Naturigin Organic Hair Colour
Sugar Stripease Wax Set
Zum Body lotions
Tan Organic Self Tan
HCC Hair Colour Mascara
4. My skin always looks tired this time of year what do you recommend for giving it a glow
Irish Winter weather is very tough on the skin. A simple skincare regime can leave you glowing all winter. I would recommend you exfoliate regularly using a natural fibre loofah. Then apply a moisturiser rich in essential oils. We recommend Tan Organics fantastic Multi-Use Dry Oil which can be used on the face, body, hair, nails, scars or stretch marks. This oil is 100% natural and absorbs instantly. If you feel like adding a bit of colour before the party season we also recommend TanOrganics Original Self Tan which is 100% natural and organic and can be applied in layers to help build the right colour tan.
5. I have never coloured my hair and try to stay away from chemicals what do you recommend for a temporary lift this party season?
HCC colour wand mascaras are a great for adding a little temporary colour pop to hair. They brush in and shampoo out and come in a range of natural and funky colours so whether you need a quick root touch up or want to add some glittery high-lights, they are ideal. They are 100% natural and suitable for Vegans and best of all they are small enough to pop in your handbag.
6. I am stuck in a cycle of greasy hair – help!
Constant greasy hair can be a sign of silicone build up in the hair or over washing.
First you have to stop using any products with silicones, dimethicones or any other ingredient ending in cone/ conal.
Next you need to detox your hair by washing it 6-7 times in a row with a good quality silicone free shampoo. We recommend the Natulique Everyday Hair wash which is 100% Natural and Organic.
Finish off with a conditioner or hair colour treatment free from silicones such as Natulique Moisture Conditioner.
